Traveling on the road with a toddler can be a unique challenge. Diggin Thomas The Tank Readybed Portable Bed
The Diggin Thomas The Tank Readybed Portable Bed is a great solution for smaller kids between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old. This bed is an inflatable design which folds up into a very compact carry bag that comes with the bed.

Also included is a portable foot pump which can be used to inflate the bed. It takes approximately five minutes to inflate with the included pump, which can be a bit of a hassle. However if a heavier electric pump were substituted instead, the whole assembly would be slightly less portable.
One big advantage of this assembly is that every aspect of the bed seems to have been well thought out ahead of time. A soft cover is integrated into the bed itself, which means you do not need to be concerned with taking extra bedding material. On the cover is a cute picture of Thomas the Tank. However, the cover can be removed to be washed separately from the bed. It also includes a pillow as well as soft bumper that goes across the head portion and around the sides to prevent the child from falling out of the bed. The Leachco BumpZZZ Travel Bed is a slightly different design from the prior two beds. This one is not inflatable although it seems to look like it is; it simply can be folded up into a portable storage bag which is included with the bed.

However, since it cannot be completely deflated, it will take up a lot more room than the other models. This takes up about the same room as a full size duffel bag.
The center of the bed is made out of polyurethane foam for a comfortable sleeping surface, while a polyester and cotton bumper surrounds the mattress to keep kids from falling off.
One cool aspect of this model is that it can be folded up on itself to serve as a great back support when sitting. This makes the surface much more versatile. It is also much larger than the other two beds (58 inches in length) so it can be used by kids up to 8 years of age. The four inch bumper on this model is not just limited towards the top, but surrounds the entirety of bed to prevent one’s child from rolling on to the floor.
